About this painting

Nestled in the Blue Ridge Mountains of western North Carolina, Lake Glenville is one of the most breathtaking hidden gems in the American South — and Glenville Awakens captures it in full spring glory. A flowering white and lavender tree takes center stage on the right bank, while the lake's vivid cobalt waters stretch back into a hillside of dense green forest. Warm golden earth and bursts of wildflowers fill the foreground, glowing in the soft mountain light.

Rendered in rich pastels, this piece celebrates the moment when winter releases its hold and the mountains come alive with color. The luminous quality of pastel captures the freshness of spring air and the shimmer of still water in a way that feels immediate and alive.
